Conflict

Chandler School District recognized the importance of providing instructional equity for technology instruction across the district for their diverse student body. Having served two decades in technology education, Marceau was appointed to lead the initiative. 

The two biggest barriers to instructional equity that she identified were a standardized curriculum and adequate teacher training. As a result, students encounter an uneven quality of instruction from classroom to classroom and school to school.

Resolution

While searching for a technology curriculum to offer instructional equity throughout the entire district, a coworker mentioned Learning.com’s EasyTech solution.

And after deeply exploring the product, the district decided that EasyTech was the best solution to implement a comprehensive technology curriculum spanning topics like typing, coding, technology applications, and online safety. 

The district also made the decision to hire technology teachers to roll-out the curriculum and coach classroom teachers on technology integration.

With a standardized curriculum in place and instructional coaching, the Chandler School District embarked on its quest for instructional equity for all students.
